Miranda Lambert’s ‘Fastest Girl in Town’ Video Will Be ‘More Like a Mini-Movie’

A few weeks ago, we reported that Miranda Lambert called on a new friend to help out with her upcoming music video for ‘The Fastest Girl in Town.’ Naturally, NASCAR racing star Danica Patrick was the most fitting lady to play the lead part. Both Patrick and Lambert tweeted about how much fun they had shooting the video, and it sounds like the camera crew recorded a lot — really, a lot — of good footage. Today, we learned that the clip will be more like a mini-movie than a music video.

“Danica was the person I thought of immediately when I envisioned the video. We had so much fun playing two bad ass chicks up to no good,” Lambert said in a press release. “Danica has a really busy schedule, and I’m thrilled she was able to take time to come to Tennessee and be a part of this.”

‘The Fastest Girl in Town’ video was directed by CMA Award winner Trey Fanjoy and is apparently a complete narrative piece, marking the first time Lambert has made a music video that didn’t include any vocal performance scenes. Instead of rocking out the song in front of cameras, the ‘Over You’ hitmaker flexed her acting skills — and she enjoyed it, too.

“I really get to act in the video. We have live sound and action scenes which feel more like a mini-movie than a music video,” Lambert added.

Since its release as a single, ‘Fastest Girl in Town’ has been racing up the charts, clinching a spot on Taste of Country’s Top 40 list this month. It sounds like once Lambert’s lengthy music video hits the airwaves (amd the internet), even more country fans will turn their attention to this future hit song.

And who knows? Maybe filming a mini-movie will inspire Lambert to become the next country star to take a shot at acting on the big screen.
