Scotty McCreery helped bring some country music flair to the ‘Christmas in Rockefeller Center’ NBC special on Wednesday evening (Nov. 29). Using his signature baritone voice, the young star sang out a snazzy version of ‘Holly Jolly Christmas’ for the crowd both in New York City and watching around the country.
McCreery took the stage looking a bit bundled up, with a tan peacoat, a red plaid shirt, red tie, and a gray and red scarf. He definitely looked the part of a country star at Christmas time.
The ‘Water Tower Town’ hitmaker was joined by Mariah Carey, Cee Lo Green, fellow crooner Trace Adkins and a handful of other stars who sang classic holiday songs for the legendary program. According to MJs Big Blog, the special even had its highest ratings in four years! We’re not positive, but we bet that has something to do with the two talented country stars who sang.
It’s obvious that McCreery is a big fan of the Christmas holiday. Not only did the young country singer release his first holiday album in ‘Christmas with Scotty McCreery’ this year, but the McCreery clan actually put up their tree back in October. On Dec. 1, the ‘Idol’ star will host a GAC special named for his festive new album.
