Somebody Has Finally Built ‘The Homer’ Car

The Porcubimmer racing team has built a real-life version of Homer Simpson‘s dream car (and failed attempt at auto design), The Homer. The car will race at the Buttonwillow Raceway in California this weekend in the 24 Hours of LeMons race — an endurance race for cars that cost less than $500.
The fact that team Porcubimmer (so named because their first mod car was fashioned after a porcupine) managed to take their trusty BMW and turn it into the Homer for less than $500 is particularly impressive. Look at all the details:
As amazing as it would be if they won, let’s not forget that The Homer is traditionally doomed to failure. Let’s see if they can make the dreams of America’s favorite dad come true!
