Every year on Thanksgiving day the Salvation Army kicks of the Red Kettle Campaign, their biggest campaign. But this year in Amarillo it is bringing in less donations than expected.

Its is causing concern for Major Tim Grider with the Salvation Army in Amarillo, with the Texas Panhandle being scorched by wildfires this past summer and the Salvation Army helping with victims losing there homes it is needing help now more than ever.

With the way the weather has been and the economy hurting everybody they believe that could be the reason they are losing out. The Salvation Army is behind on there budget this year and with the way the Red Kettle Campaign is turning out they might not reach it. So if your going to be holiday shopping and only 9 days left in the Campaign if you have some extra change be sure to donate, the Salvation Army say's "we would hate to turn people down."
