Charities in the Texas Panhandle are having a hard time meeting their goals this holiday season.

They say the holiday season is when most charities receive the most donations, people are usually in the giving spirit.

But this year in the Texas Panhandle charities are having a hard time meeting their goals, so most of them are hosting fundraiser to raise awareness.

Those red kettles from the Salvation Army are less more empty than usual. Toys for Tots have received less money and toy donations, they will be hosting a pool tournament and a concert to help in receiving more donations. The High Plains Food Bank has been receiving a steady amount of donations but their food donations have been fewer than normal.
