Who Will The 2012 Heisman Trophy Winner Be? [POLL]
Manti Te’o of Notre Dame, Johnny Manziel of Texas A&M, and Collin Klein of Kansas St. are in the running for the 2012 Heisman Trophy Award.
It is called “The Most Prestigious Award in College Football,” The Heisman Trophy. It began in 1935 and was to be presented to the “outstanding college football player in the United States.” According to Heisman.com.
The first player to ever receive this award was Jay Berwagner in December 1935, known as the legendary “one man gang” at the University of Chicago.
2012 marks the 78th time the award will be presented, this years Heisman Trophy candidates have been selected and we want to know who you think will put it on their shelf next.
The 78th Annual Heisman Memorial Trophy Presentation is Sat, Dec 8th at 7:00pm CT on ESPN, live from the Best Buy Theater in Times Square, New York.
#2 Johnny Manziel – QB – Texas A&M
In his first season at Texas A&M the freshman has thrown for 3,419 yds, 24 TD’s, 8 int’s, with a completion percentage of 68.3%.

In his senior year at Notre Dame Te’o has had 101 tackes, 7 ints, and 1.5 sacks for the Fighting Irish.
Te’o has already received 3 awards this year including the Lombardi Award.
Te’o has helped lead the #1 Notre Dame to a perfect 12-0 record. The Fighting Irish will play against the #2 Alabama Crimson Tide in the BCS National Championship on Mon, Jan 7th at 7:30 CT on ESPN.
#7 Collin Klein – QB – Kansas State
In his senior year at Kansas State Klein has thrown for 2,490 yds, 15 TD’s, 7 int’s, with a completion percentage of 66.2%.
Klein has helped lead the #5 Kansas State to a 11-1 record. The Wildcats will play against the #4 Oregon Ducks in the Fiesta Bowl on Thu, Jan 3rd at 7:30 CT on ESPN.
