River Road Band Teacher Gives Award For “The Worst Band Member,” Parents Think She Is A Bully!

Facebook

With all of the bullying that is happening in and around school these days, teachers and faculty should be trying to prevent it from happening… not promoting it. Parents even think school’s should now be held responsible for bullying if it gets out of hand.

Blake FM received this photo on its Facebook page, it is an award that was given by a teacher to a student for being “The Worst Band Member.” He recieved the award for “Just absolutely not caring and never ceasing to try to get out of anything possible.”

This is the message Blake FM received on Facebook:

Above is a picture of an award that was given out by a River Road High School Band Teacher here in Amarillo Texas!! I think it is very important to reach out to the world to show this child we care about him and others like him and that it is NOT OK TO BULLY!!! I believe it is our job to expose the teacher to the world and get her out of the school and from around our children!! We as parents need to show our kids the right thing to do when something like this arises! Please help me spread the Word BULLING IS NOT OK!!!

So my question to you is, do you think this is bullying? Maybe the teacher and student laughed about this award and forgot about it. The parent probably seen it and thought it was not nice and made a BIG deal about it?

Or maybe the student was hurt by this award? I know when I was in school at our sport banquets we gave away funny awards similar to this. It was not intended to hurt anyone, it was just to bring back a funny memory that happened. Everybody laughed and then forgot about it.

So what do you think? Would you consider this as bullying?
